Quarrix's lightweight composite roof tile replicating traditional clay and concrete tile in a double Roman style, engineered with high-density polyethylene using a formulation of virgin resin. The product page says the tiles are about a third of the weight of traditional tile and need no added bracing, and offers Black, Desert Red, Saddle Brown and Canyon Earth, with Goldenrod and Sage by special order. Each color comes in a Class C version (3 lbs a piece, 270 lbs a square) and a Class A version (3.3 lbs a piece, 297 lbs a square). The installation manual prints a 13 by 16-1/2 by 2-1/4 inch tile at 90 pieces per square and a 13-1/2 inch maximum exposure, Class 4 impact per FM 4473, Class A and Class C fire per ASTM E108, and Florida Building Code approval FL46617 for the Class A version only. Its limited warranty covers manufacturing defects for fifty years and wind damage below 110 mph for ten years. The information sheet prints the Sage Class C part number as 3001CE, the same number it gives Canyon Earth Class C, while the installation manual lists 3001SG.
