Slate Metal Roofing
UL 2218 Class 4ProVia's slate metal roofing is a stamped steel panel printed and embossed to look like quarried slate, in Coalstone, Larkstone, Lodgestone, Ironstone and Baystone colors with solid or decorative trim. Shake and slate panels use a four-way multi-point locking system with a water-damming feature and reverse-side WaveLock design that the brochure says resisted wind uplift to 180 mph. It lists Florida HVHZ approval FL# 37870 for slate. It is embossed 26-gauge G90 galvanized steel with the GalvaTec finish (Fluropon Kynar 500 base color, decorative ink and clear coat, with an epoxy back coat) and concealed fasteners. The brochure's standards table lists UL 2218 Class 4 impact, ASTM E108 Class A fire, wind uplift of TAS 125 Class 90, TAS 125 Class 60 and UL 580 Class 30 on separate rows without saying which product each applies to, and passes for ASTM B117, ASTM G-155, TAS 100-95 wind-driven rain, ANSI-FM4470 (2016) foot traffic and ASTM E8/E8M-16a. The warranty is a lifetime non-prorated material warranty for the original homeowner, transferable, with a 40-year chalk and fade guarantee.
