Jiffy Seal Ice & Water Guard is a cold-applied, self-adhering SBS-modified rubberized asphalt sheet membrane reinforced with a non-woven fabric, tacky on both sides, for use against ice-dam backup and wind-driven rain under shingles, tile, slate, metal and shakes in new construction or re-roofing. The product literature prints a black 40 mil membrane, 30-inch and 60-inch by 75-foot rolls, pliability tested down to -55 degrees on the product page, an in-service range of -45 F to 250 F and a 250 F limit for use under high-temperature roofing, and says it is not for use over or in contact with PVC or TPO coverings. The same literature lists a 30-day exposure rating among its features and a 12-month UV exposure period in its property table. It is covered by the Protecto Wrap Standard 10 Year Limited Warranty and is one of the membranes in IAPMO UES evaluation report ER-0390.
