Polystick IR-Xe is a granulated self-adhered ice and water protection underlayment for shingle roofs, built on Polyglass's ADESO dual-compound technology: a polymer modified bitumen upper compound over a self-adhesive SBS compound with a split release film. It is reinforced with a fiberglass mat and surfaced with aggregate for skid resistance, may be left exposed up to 90 days, and seals around correctly installed nails, for use over the whole roof, at eaves or in areas prone to wind-driven rain and ice damming. The data sheet lists a nominal 52 mil thickness, 65 ft 4 in by 36 in rolls covering about 180 sq ft net, product code PSIRXE, application at 40 F and rising, and a listing of ASTM D1970, UL Classified, ICC ESR-1697, FORTIFIED Roof compliant, Florida Building Code, Miami-Dade County approved and Texas Department of Insurance. Its product disclaimer warrants against manufacturing defects that directly result in leakage for 5 years.
