An acoustic treatment that reduces sound radiated through roof-mounted equipment curbs from sources inside rooftop units such as supply and exhaust fans, compressors and condenser fans. It combines a batten layer with an R-value of 8.0 and a flexible acoustic barrier, installs inside plenum and non-plenum Pate curbs at the factory or in the field, and uses acoustical tape in place of caulking. Pate lists sound reduction of 10 to 75 dB and ratings from STC27 to STC58; the barrier is fire and water resistant.
