ImpactRidge is Owens Corning's hip and ridge shingle for its impact-resistant Duration STORM and Duration FLEX roofs. Owens Corning's FORTIFIED Roof technical bulletin states that ImpactRidge Hip & Ridge Shingles are required to complete a UL 2218 and/or FM 4473 Class 4 impact-resistant roof system. Its application instructions separate each piece into three shingles laid at a 6 in. exposure and note that a shingle-over ridge vent may affect the impact resistance classification.
