HailShield plates are 2.2-in. (56 mm) round black plates of high-strength reinforced polymer with barbs for in-seam attachment of single-ply membrane and for cover board securement in single-ply systems rated for Very Severe Hail. OMG says the patent-pending design protects the roof cover from very severe hail damage from the fastener head. They are used with deck-appropriate OMG fasteners driven by a variable speed screw gun of no more than 2500 RPM (not an impact driver), ship 500 per package, and the data sheet sends readers to the roofing system manufacturer for specific FM approvals.
