The Universal Direct Deck vent is O'Hagin's low-profile, tapered off-ridge attic vent fastened directly to the roof deck under concrete and clay tile of all profiles, rather than being made to a specific tile shape. The vent data sheet (5/2026) prints a net free ventilation area of 145.80 square inches with 1/4 inch wire mesh or 131.22 square inches with 1/8 inch mesh (figures based on independent evaluation reports), 26 gauge G90 galvanized steel construction with galvanized mesh and a 20-year warranty, with stainless steel mesh upgrades offered, and says the patented design installs below solar panels. The installation instructions call for a 14 by 14 inch deck opening, fastening at 4-inch centres, and sealing by peel-and-stick, three-course and mastic, bib-over, membrane or another locally approved method, and warn against placing vents below concentrated runoff.
