Fire&Ice Tile Vent
A low-profile, tapered off-ridge attic vent for concrete and clay tile roofs, sold in Low (Flat), Medium (M) and High (S) tile profiles and installed both high and low on the roof as a balanced system requiring no separate soffit or under-eave vents; a patented design allows installation below solar panels. Per the manufacturer's vent data sheet (figures based on independent evaluation reports), net free ventilation area with the standard 1/4 in. wire mesh is 98.75 sq. in. (Low/Flat), 86.25 sq. in. (Medium/M) and 97.50 sq. in. (High/S); with the 1/8 in. climate-resistant wire mesh upgrade it is 88.87, 77.63 and 87.75 sq. in. respectively. Base construction is 26 gauge G90 galvanized steel with a 2 in. flange subflashing; .032 in. aluminum and 16 oz. copper are offered as metal upgrades. It is tested to 140 mph wind-driven rain (Category 4 hurricane) for 75 feet on a five-plus story building and tested to Chapter 7A of the California Building Code for flame and ember exposure (no cotton ignition).
