A low-profile, tapered off-ridge attic vent for composition (asphalt) shingle, wood shake, slate and metal roofs, blended into the surrounding roofing material rather than installed as a continuous ridge strip and installed both high (within 3 feet of the ridge) and low (within the lower third of the attic) as a balanced system requiring no separate soffit or under-eave vents. Per the manufacturer's vent data sheet (figures based on independent evaluation reports), it prints 72.00 square inches of net free ventilation area with the standard 1/4 in. wire mesh, or 64.80 square inches with the 1/8 in. climate-resistant wire mesh upgrade. Base construction is 26 gauge G90 galvanized steel; .032 in. aluminum and 16 oz. copper are offered as metal upgrades, and a patented stainless-steel fine/flexible wire filament is offered for flame- and ember-resistance. It is tested to 140 mph wind-driven rain (Category 4 hurricane) for 75 feet on a five-plus story building.
