Newmont's patented hook-fixing installation system for natural slate roofing, used in place of traditional face-nailing. Pre-applied aluminum hook strips are installed with a standard nail gun and carry 12-gauge 304 stainless steel hooks, anodized black, compatible with all Newmont slate sizes. Newmont states the hook method eliminates over-nailing (which cracks slate) and under-nailing (which allows slates to shift), and allows an individual slate to be replaced without disturbing adjacent slates.
