StormStopper FSU (Film Surface Underlayment) is a self-adhering roofing underlayment and waterproofing membrane of a polymer film with an embedded traction surface laminated to a high-temperature-rated rubberized asphalt adhesive, intended for use under asphalt shingles and metal roofing systems where high heat is generated. The product page and January 2026 data sheet give a 45 mil nominal thickness, an adhesive rated to 240 F, installation above 45 F on slopes of 2 inches per foot or more, up to 30 days of exposure and 36-inch by 66.7-foot rolls, and list ASTM D1970, Florida Building Code FL 11842.1, Miami-Dade County approval, Texas Department of Insurance listing and Fortified Building Program listing. MFM gives a 5-year limited warranty.
