A self-adhering, 60-mil, granular (mineral) surfaced ice-and-water barrier underlayment adhered directly to the roof deck. A strong mat coated with rubberized asphalt and black stone granules is bonded with a non-removable adhesive selvedge edge for a secure overlap seal, and it installs at eaves, valleys, vents, skylights and chimneys to protect against leaks from ice dams, melting snow and wind-driven rain in new construction and re-roofing, with a 365-day exposure limit and a service temperature range of -20 degrees F to 170 degrees F.
