IB-3 IceBuster is a self-adhering, 50 mil, mineral-surfaced roofing underlayment of a strong mesh bonded to rubberized asphalt and coated with black stone granules, installed at eaves, valleys, vents, skylights and chimneys under shingles, tile and other roofing to protect against ice dams, melting snow and blowing rain. It installs above 40 F on slopes of 2 inches per foot or more, has a split release liner, self-seals around common fasteners and may be left exposed for up to 30 days; the data sheet gives a service temperature of -20 F to 170 F. The product page lists ASTM D1970, ICC-ES ESR-1737, LA County (LARC/LABC), State of California (CRC/CBC), Florida Building Code FL 11842.1, Miami-Dade County approval, Texas Department of Insurance listing and Fortified Building Program listing, and says it comes in four 36-inch roll lengths (33, 65, 67 and 75 feet), while its own ordering table lists the 33-foot and 65-foot rolls. MFM gives a 5-year limited warranty.
