TPO Primer is an all-acrylic, pigmented elastomeric base coat primer for adhesion to weathered TPO roofing membranes; the product page limits it to weathered TPO, names Acrylic Clear Base as the primer path for PVC membranes, and lists 2-gallon, 5-gallon, 55-gallon and 275-gallon packages applied by spray or roll. Its technical data sheet says it is intended for TPO membranes weathered at least four years and pressure washed at 3,000 psi, then top coated with an acrylic elastomeric top coat. The sheet tabulates results beside ASTM D-6083 requirement values, listing 66.2 percent weight solids, 52.0 percent volume solids, initial tensile strength of 147 psi against a 200 psi minimum, initial elongation of 227 percent, tear resistance of 79 lbf/in, permeance of 7.0 perms and 50 g/L VOC.
