Epoxy Primer is a two-component, liquid-applied, water-based epoxy primer that the product page lists for difficult or non-porous substrates under acrylic and silicone roof coating systems, including metal roofs. Its technical data sheet lists 1-gallon and 5-gallon kits mixed 4 parts A to 1 part B by volume, a pot life of 30 to 45 minutes at 75 degrees F, and an application rate of 1 gallon per 200 to 300 square feet by airless spray, brush or roller, for a dry film of about 3 mils. Typical uses on the sheet are wood, asphalt surfaces, metal, polymers and polyurethane elastomeric surfaces; it lists total solids of 45 percent by weight and 39 percent by volume (ASTM D-2369) and VOC of 43 grams per liter.
