Black Primer is a single-component, black, water-based acrylic elastomeric rust inhibitor primer that the product page lists for prepared metal roofs with rust or corrosion exposure, applied by spray, roll or brush and sold in 2-gallon, 5-gallon, 55-gallon and 275-gallon packages. Its technical data sheet describes it as a primer for BUR asphalt, tar and gravel, cap sheet, coal tar and metal surfaces, applied at 1 gallon per 100 square feet.
