MetalflexSBS is an SBS modified bitumen cap and flashing membrane with an embossed foil top surface laminated during production, offered in standard aluminum, colored aluminum and a copper foil finish, plus the Cool White 24 version. MBTechnology states it is Class A fire rated with no slope restriction and the product data sheet gives an initial reflectivity of 89 percent by ASTM C-1549 for the aluminum surface, lists it with F.M. to meet I-90 wind uplift, and states it meets ASTM D6298. The product page describes the reinforcement as a woven fiberglass mat while the data sheet table lists a fiberglass scrim. Torch application is the preferred method and all flashings must be torch applied.
