FireguardSBS is MBTechnology's family of fire-retardant SBS modified bitumen cap membranes, offered with polyester, glass or dual reinforcement and applied with hot asphalt, cold adhesive or heat welding, without protective coatings or gravel. The maker's own documents disagree on the fire classification: the product page states it is Class B fire rated over combustible and non-combustible decks, while the product data sheet states that roofing systems designed around a FireguardSBS cap are rated by Underwriters Lab and Warnock Hersey as a Class A fire rated system. The data sheet offers 2, 3 or 4 ply construction.
