Ecotorch is a torch-applied modified bitumen cap and flashing membrane containing SBS and recycled tire rubber, for new roofing, re-roofing and repair of built-up roofing, used over a LayfastSBS TU-35 or LayflatSBS base. The Ecotorch-G product data sheet lists a non-woven polyester mat, a nominal overall thickness of 170 mil and a 106 lb roll covering one square, and tabulates it against ASTM D6164 Grade G. MBTechnology states the product was funded by a CalRecycle grant and that each roll uses approximately one half of one passenger tire.
