UL 2218 Class 4BattenLok HS is MBCI's mechanically field-seamed, high-strength structural standing seam roof system with a 2-inch tall vertical seam, installable directly over purlins or bar joists without a solid substructure. Its data sheet gives 12-inch or 16-inch coverage widths and a 1/2:12 minimum slope, in 24-gauge standard steel (22-gauge optional), smooth or embossed, with optional striations or striations-and-pencil-ribs to help minimize oil canning. The data sheet lists UL 580 Class 90 uplift ratings across nine construction numbers and Florida product approval FL# 42382.16.
