Secure Start Plus (SKU 1031) is Malarkey's non-permeable synthetic underlayment for steep-slope roofs under asphalt shingles, wood shakes and shingles, metal and mechanically fastened tile. It is a cross-woven polyolefin base laminated to an embossed non-woven polyolefin scrim with a polymer back coating, with lap lines every 4 in. and marked fastener locations. The data sheet gives a 48 in. by 250 ft. roll (10 squares), 32 lbs. per roll, anti-skid surfaces on both faces, up to 90 days of UV exposure and a 2:12 minimum slope with a double layer from 2:12 to 4:12. It lists a Class A fire rating to ASTM E108 when installed with a fire-rated roof covering and a 10-year product warranty against manufacturing defects when installed on its own.
