Secure Start Lite (SKU 1029) is Malarkey's lightweight synthetic underlayment for steep-slope roofs under asphalt shingles, wood shakes and shingles, metal, slate and mechanically fastened tile. It is a four-layer sheet with a woven polypropylene core, a non-woven polypropylene top and an anti-slip polyolefin coating underneath, printed with lap lines and fastener locations. The February 2026 data sheet gives a 48 in. by 250 ft. roll (10 squares), 7 mils nominal, 24 lbs. per roll, 0.06 perms, up to 90 days of UV exposure and a 2:12 minimum slope. It lists a Class A fire rating to ASTM E108 when installed with a fire-rated roof covering and a 10-year product warranty against manufacturing defects when installed on its own.
