Right Start UDL is Malarkey's polymer-modified fiberglass underlayment and dry-in sheet for steep-slope roofs under asphalt shingles, roof tile and wood shakes. It is a non-woven fiberglass mat coated on both sides with NEX polymer-modified asphalt and a mineral release surface. The data sheet gives a 39-3/8 in. by 66 ft. roll covering 2 squares, 50 mils nominal, 80 lbs. per roll, 0.5 U.S. perms, up to 90 days of exposure and a 2:12 minimum slope with a double layer from 2:12 to 4:12. It lists a Class A fire rating to ASTM E108 when installed with a fire-rated roof covering, Florida Building Code approvals #14807 and #15214, and a 10-year product warranty against manufacturing defects when installed on its own.
