Arctic Seal (SKU 401) is Malarkey's self-adhering ice and water underlayment made on a non-woven fiberglass mat with a NEX SBS polymer-modified asphalt coating and a sand release surface, used on steep slopes of 2:12 and up against ice dams and wind-driven rain and as a flashing membrane at valleys, roof-to-wall transitions, vents and skylights; Malarkey says not to use it under metal roofs. The March 2026 data sheet gives a 36 in. x 65 ft. roll (195 sq. ft., 2 squares), 65 mils nominal and 60 lbs., up to 60 days uncovered, compound stability tested to 225 degrees F under ASTM D5147, a Class A fire rating when installed with a fire-rated roof covering, and a 10-year product warranty when installed on its own.
