An interlocking clay roof tile with a square butt and a sandblasted weathered surface, made in a 14-inch and a larger 16-inch profile. The product pages print 800 lbs and 158 pieces per square for the 14-inch tile (9 by 14 by 7/8 inches) and 750 lbs and 109 pieces per square for the 16-inch tile (10-3/4 by 16 by 7/8 inches), both at a 3:12 recommended minimum slope. It is offered in all standard and custom Ludowici colors, mists and blends, with battered butt and brushed butt custom textures, and Ludowici states the profile can also be used for wall cladding. The data sheet lists ASTM C1167 Grade 1 with water absorption less than 2 percent. IAPMO UES ER-452 (revised 05/29/2026) lists it as a Class A roof covering over a nominal 0.5-inch plywood deck only when installed with Polyglass Polyanchor XFR, Polystick XFR, Polystick TU P or Polystick MTS Plus underlayment.
