LP BurnGuard FRT OSB is fire-retardant-treated OSB sheathing in which the fire-retardant chemical is blended with the strands before forming and pressing, rather than applied in a separate treating step. It comes in nominal 4 ft by 8 ft panels in two PS 2 Sheathing-grade Performance Categories: 15/32 with a 24/16 span rating for roof, subfloor and wall sheathing, and 7/16 with a Wall-24 span rating that LP states is not for roof sheathing. LP states the 15/32 panel is approved as roof sheathing in townhouses and in other roof applications where FRT wood sheathing is permitted by code, and that it meets the 2024 IBC Section 2303.2 FRT wood requirements when tested to ASTM E84 extended to 30 minutes. The product page lists Intertek CCRR-0588 and APA PR-N141, and roof and subfloor panels are installed with the strength axis across the framing.
