KEMPEROL SBS Base is a 2.4 mm (94 mil) SBS modified bitumen base sheet reinforced with a fiberglass mat, with a sanded top surface and either a sand-backed bottom for adhered applications or a burn-off polyethylene film for heat-welded applications. It is sold as KEMPEROL SBS Base Torch and KEMPEROL SBS Base Mop in 1.5-square rolls measuring 39 3/8 in. by 49 ft 1 in. The data sheet describes it as a base ply or interply for mechanically attached, hot asphalt, cold adhered or heat-welded applications, to be covered with a KEMPEROL SBS Cap sheet, and lists ASTM D6163 Type 1 Grade S and Florida product approvals FL17442 and FL38133.
