KEMPEROL SBS Base SA is a self-adhered SBS modified bitumen base sheet reinforced with a fiberglass mat, with a proprietary self-adhesive bottom compound and a split-back release liner. The data sheets list two versions: SBS Base SA at 1.5 mm (60 mil) with a polypropylene film top surface, intended as the base layer under KEMPEROL SBS SA Cap, and SBS Base SA S at 1.8 mm (70 mil) with a sanded top surface, intended as a vapor barrier or base layer under KEMPEROL SBS Cap Torch or a KEMPEROL cold liquid-applied membrane. Both come in 2.0-square rolls measuring 39-3/8 in. by 61 ft, are primed with KEMPERTEC SA-Zero Primer, and list ASTM D4601 Type 2.
