KEMPEROL 1K AQUA MB BASE is a single-component, water-based, light blue elastomeric base coat for the KEMPEROL 1K AQUA Hybrid Elastomeric Coating, used over existing BUR and smooth or mineral-surfaced modified bitumen roofs to prevent asphalt bleed-through. It is part of a roof maintenance coating system applied by spray or roller at about 80 square feet per gallon, and is supplied in 5-gallon and 55-gallon containers. The data sheet reports 52 percent volume solids, 550 psi tensile strength and 200 percent elongation (ASTM D412), and a pass on accelerated weathering under ASTM D4798.
