Karnak 97 Fibered Aluminum Roof Coating is a heavy-duty asphalt-based aluminum roof coating made of selected asphalts, pure aluminum flake pigment, refined solvents and reinforcing fibers, whose aluminum leafs to the surface to reflect, in the maker's words, over 50 percent of the sun's rays and protect the asphaltic oils in the roof below. Its product data sheet lists ASTM D2824 Type III, federal specification TT-C-498C, ASTM D3805 and ASTM D962 Type II, reports 58 percent solids by weight and 49 percent by volume in a silver color, and states the coating is UL Class A rated over specified modified bitumen systems.
