Karnak 220 Fibered Emulsion is a water-based coating of refined asphalt, bentonite clay, emulsifiers and fibers for brush or spray application. The maker lists it for smooth surface built-up roofs, smooth or granular APP and SBS modified bitumen membranes, metal and concrete roofs, as a prime coat before a reflective coating, and in its 220 System for cold-applied roof maintenance. Its product page lists ASTM D1187 Type I and Type II, ASTM D1227 Type II Class I, SS-R-1781 and MIL-R-3472A (both except asbestos-free) and a VOC of 20 g/L maximum. It is sold in 275 gallon totes, 55 gallon drums and 5 gallon pails.
