Ventsulation Felt is a fiber glass-reinforced, asphalt-coated venting base sheet with a 1 inch embossed waffle-pattern grid and coarse mineral surfacing on one side, used as a base sheet for built-up or modified bitumen roofs over substrates that may contain moisture, such as re-covers, lightweight insulating fill or gypsum decks. The data sheet (RS-2020, 10-14) says it meets ASTM D4897 Type II, is installed with the embossed side down, and prints a 36 inch by 36 foot roll with 100 square feet net coverage at a nominal 68 lb. It lists a system-dependent Peak Advantage guarantee of up to 30 years.
