ProtectoR HD is a 1/2 inch high-density polyisocyanurate cover board with inorganic coated glass facers containing no cellulose, used as a protective cover board over insulation or an existing roof beneath the membrane; it must not be encapsulated in hot asphalt. The data sheet (RS-5626) says it meets ASTM C1289 Type II Class 4 Grade 1, prints a 4 by 4 foot board and an R-value of 2.5, says it achieves a UL Class A approval directly over a combustible wood deck at slopes up to 1/2 in 12, refers to FM 4450/4470 approvals, and lists production in Cornwall, Ontario, Jacksonville, Florida, Fernley, Nevada, Hazleton, Pennsylvania and Bremen, Indiana. It lists a guarantee of up to 30 years in most JM multi-ply or single ply systems.
