JM BaseGrip SD/SA is a self-adhering, fiber glass-reinforced SBS modified bitumen base sheet for roofing systems where two or more plies of modified bitumen are wanted, accepting a cap set by heat welding, hot asphalt or an approved cold adhesive. The data sheet (RS-2008, 3-21) says it meets ASTM D4601 Type II and ASTM D1970, and prints a minimum thickness of 70 mil and a 36 inch by 72 foot roll with 195 square feet net coverage at 96 lb, made in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. It lists a Peak Advantage guarantee of up to 30 years in most 2 to 5 ply JM SBS systems.
