FESCO Board HD is a high-density, expanded perlite-based roof cover board with cellulosic fiber reinforcement and a TopLoc coating on the top surface to limit asphalt absorption in hot-asphalt roofing systems. The data sheet (RS-5096, 3-24) says it meets ASTM C728 Type 2 and prints 4 by 4 foot boards 1 inch thick weighing 16 lb, made in Rockdale, Illinois. It says the high density allows installation directly over wide flute or metal deck for spans up to 2 1/2 inches, with JM technical services consulted for direct-to-deck use.
