Bestile Utility Cement is a one-part, black, asphalt-based trowel-grade mastic used to adhere vertical and horizontal roof flashings and to repair leaks around metal, shingles, concrete, flashings, gutters, chimneys, drains and similar details. The data sheet (RS-2029, 4-20) says it meets ASTM D4586 Type I (asbestos free), gives a calculated VOC of 300 g/l and 70 to 77 percent solids by weight, and lists 4.75 gallon pails, application between 40 and 100 degrees F, and a 24-month shelf life.
