NovaSeal PRIME is a mechanically attached synthetic roof underlayment of woven polypropylene with a slip-resistant non-woven top surface, positioned by the maker as a balanced residential underlayment for use under asphalt and synthetic shingles, metal in residential applications and primed cedar shakes. The data sheet prints a 7.3 mil thickness, a grey/black colour, 3.0 oz/yd2 fabric weight and 48-inch by 250-foot rolls at 23 lb per roll; the product page instead gives the 10-square roll as 18 lb and claims UV protection for up to 90 days. The data sheet lists ICC-ES AC188 (CCRR-1105), ASTM D8257, ASTM D4869 Types I through IV, ASTM D226 Type II, CSA A123.3 Types 1 to 3, a Class A fire resistance rating to ASTM E108, Texas Department of Insurance, Florida approval FL 26367 and Miami-Dade County product control approval.
