Western Red Cedar hip and ridge caps made from Imperial Shake's own shakes or shingles in Handsplit/Resawn, Tapersawn or Shingle styles, with lengths and thicknesses matching the shake, shingle or tapersawn product used. The technical data sheet gives inside widths of 9 in. for 24 in. and 8 1/2 in. for 18 in. tapersawn or handsplit-resawn caps (11 1/4 in. extra wide also available) and 7 in. outside width for 16 and 18 in. shingle ridge, bundles of 20 pieces (shake) or 36 pieces (shingle) covering 16.67 lineal ft., and a 4:12 minimum roof pitch. Imperial's hip and ridge page lists Premium, Number 1, Number 2 or Number 3 grades, while the data sheet lists Premium, Number 1 (not in shingle hip and ridge) and Number 2 (not in handsplit-resawn hip and ridge).
