Western Red Cedar handsplit and resawn (HS/RS) roofing shakes from Imperial Shake's Maple Ridge, British Columbia mill, split by hand and resawn to lay flat with a rustic split face. The technical data sheet lists Premium Grade (clear heartwood, 100 percent edge grain) and Number 1 Grade (clear heartwood, maximum 20 percent flat grain), 18 and 24 in. lengths, 1/2 in. Medium, 3/4 in. Heavy and 1 in. Jumbo minimum butt thicknesses, random widths of 4 to 14 in., a 4:12 minimum roof pitch, and maximum roof exposures of 7 1/2 in. (18 in.) and 10 in. (24 in.). Kiln drying, CCA treatment or fire treatment to Class B or C are available. Imperial's shake limited warranty covers Number 1 and Premium Grade shakes against leaks from original product defects for 20 to 50 years depending on grade, thickness and length, with replacement or a pro-rata refund, and excludes hail and wind damage.
