UL 2218 Class 4

UltraHP IR is the impact-resistant version of IKO's preformed two-layer high-profile hip and ridge cap, 11 1/2 in. x 10 in. with an 8 1/4 in. exposure. IKO's technical data sheet (11/2025) lists UL 2218 Class 4 impact resistance for UltraHP IR only, and IKO states that UltraHP IR should be used where a full roof system impact rating is required.

IKO states that UltraHP IR's Class 4 rating, tested against UL 2218, is presented for the sole purpose of enabling homeowners using these shingles with Class 3 or Class 4 impact-rated shingles to obtain a discount on their home insurance premiums, if available in their area, and is not to be construed as a warranty or guarantee of impact performance.
