RP-400 is a single-component, asbestos-free, asphalt-based roof cement in gunnable and trowelable consistency, formulated with a wet-application additive so it bonds to wet or dry surfaces, even underwater, for patching shingles, flashings and seams, as shingle tab cement and around vents, pipes, chimneys and gutters. The product page rules out single-ply membranes such as EPDM, PVC and CSPE and says not to paint or thin it. It comes in black in cartridges, 1-gallon cans and 5-gallon pails.
