BASEGARD SA Base Sheet is an SBS rubber modified, self-adhesive asphalt base sheet reinforced with a glass fiber mat, with a fine mineral release surface on top and a release film below. GenFlex lists it as a base layer or as a vapor retarder under GenFlex polyiso and cover boards, installed with 3 in side laps and 6 in end laps, and not for use as a temporary roof. Rolls are 3 ft 3 in by 65 ft 4 in (about 198 sq ft, 2 squares) at a typical 70 mil thickness. The data sheet states it meets ASTM D4601, tested to ASTM D5147, with water vapor permeance tested to ASTM E96 Procedure C.
