VersaShield Fire-Resistant Roof Deck Protection is GAF's fiberglass-reinforced roof underlayment that combines a fire-resistant slip sheet and roof deck protection in one roll, sold for jurisdictions that require fire-resistant roof assemblies. GAF says it protects against flame spread and penetration into the building, lies flatter than typical asphalt felts, and acts as a secondary layer of wind-driven rain protection, and that it "will upgrade the UL fire classification of almost any type of roof," with a footnote pointing to the UL Certifications Directory for actual assemblies. The product page lists an ICC Evaluation Report, ESR-2053, and a Miami-Dade document numbered 21-1027.02 that also covers the VersaShield Solo slip sheet. It is eligible for up to a Lifetime limited warranty when installed on GAF Lifetime Shingle roofs with qualifying GAF accessories.
