TimberTex Premium Ridge Cap Shingles are GAF's double-layer, dimensional hip and ridge caps, 12 in. (305 mm) wide with a large 8 in. (203 mm) exposure, which GAF says is up to 195% thicker than typical field-cut 3-tab ridge shingles. Continuous Dura Grip sealant over a microgranule nailing area gives an asphalt-to-asphalt bond for wind uplift performance, and the caps are color blended to complement GAF shingles including Timberline HDZ, Timberline UHDZ, Timberline AS II and Sequoia AS. GAF prints a UL 2218 Class 4 impact-resistance rating, credited to its UltraMat fiberglass mat and limited to packages bearing the UltraMat logo and Class 4 classification statement. Packages bearing the StainGuard Plus logo carry a 25-year algae protection limited warranty; the product is eligible for a Lifetime limited warranty when installed with GAF Lifetime Shingles and qualifying accessories (the page prints both "at least two additional" and "at least 3"), can be used to comply with certain FORTIFIED Roof requirements in the U.S., and is not available in all regions.
