TimberSteel is GAF's premium metal shingle roofing system, which GAF says combines the qualities of steel, aluminum and zinc with GALVALUME; its core components are field shingles, hip and ridge caps, ridge vent, valley, rake and eave drip edge flashing, and roof deck protection. The shingles are nominally 11 in. x 40 in. with a 9 in. x 38 in. exposure, at 42 pieces, 2 bundles and 168 nails per square. For the shingles only, GAF lists UL 2218 Class 4 impact resistance, ASTM D3161 Class F wind resistance, TAS-100 wind-driven rain resistance, an ANSI/UL 790 Class C fire rating (referring to UL Product iQ for actual assemblies), Florida Building Code approval, and meeting Texas Department of Insurance requirements. The system is sold only through GAF Metal Certified contractors and, per the page, is available in Alabama, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Maryland, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia. The optional ArmorPledge limited warranty adds 30 years of workmanship coverage, a 15-year wind warranty with no maximum wind speed and a 15-year hail leak warranty on select components; paint finish coverage is 30 years in all colors except Rustic Red, which gets 20 years.
