Pro-Start Starter Strip Shingles are GAF's cost-effective starter course for the eaves and rakes, sold as a fast alternative to hand-cutting 3-tab shingles into a starter row. Each strip carries factory-applied, properly positioned Dura Grip adhesive to help lock down shingle edges and resist blow-off, and separates into two pieces at a perforated line. GAF says using its starter strips with special installation can unlock increased wind coverage on many GAF shingles, and the product is eligible for a Lifetime Limited Warranty only when installed with GAF Lifetime shingles and qualifying GAF accessories (the page prints both "at least two additional" and "at least 3" qualifying accessories for that coverage). GAF states it is made in the U.S.A. with domestic and imported materials.
