Cobra Hip Vent is GAF's shingle-over exhaust vent for hip roofs with little or no ridge area, installed along the hips under 12 in. (305 mm) ridge cap shingles on 3-tab, laminate and designer asphalt shingle roofs. GAF prints 9 sq. in. of net free ventilating area per linear foot, a dual Weather Fighter filter against weather, insect and pine needle infiltration, and an extra-flexible hinge for hip slopes from 3:12 to 12:12, and says it helps resist snow and wind-driven rain infiltration under controlled laboratory conditions. It can be used to comply with certain FORTIFIED Roof requirements in the U.S. and is eligible for up to a Lifetime limited warranty when installed on GAF Lifetime Shingle roofs with qualifying accessories.
