Cobra Exhaust Vent for Roof Ridge is GAF's original rolled, shingle-over ridge vent: a mesh roll that installs in three steps on roof slopes between 2:12 and 20:12 without fitting, wrapping, connectors or end plugs. It comes in hand-nailable versions with Smart Nails and nail-gunnable versions with 1 3/4 in. (44.4 mm) coil nails, in 8 in., 10.5 in. and 11.75 in. widths and 20 ft or 50 ft rolls, matched to 10 in., 12 in. and 11.75 in. ridge cap shingles. GAF prints a net free area of 16.9 sq. in. per linear foot for the hand-nailable versions and 14.1 sq. in. per linear foot for the nail-gunnable versions, and warns that ridge exhaust should never exceed soffit intake. The page lists a code document titled "Cobra Exhaust Vents for Roof Ridge RV-19" and a GreenCircle recycled content certification. It can be used to comply with certain FORTIFIED Roof requirements in the U.S. and is eligible for up to a Lifetime limited warranty when installed on GAF Lifetime Shingle roofs with qualifying accessories.
