Western Red Cedar shakes from G&R Cedar's Matsqui mill with a split face and sawn back, sold as Number 1 Certi-Split medium (1/2 in.) and heavy (3/4 in.) resawn shakes in 18 or 24 in. lengths, with heavy shakes available up to 1 1/2 in. thick, and as a 3/8 in. straight-split barn shake that is split on both sides with no taper. G&R's limited warranty for Number 1 and Premium Grade split and resawn shakes runs 25 years (18 x 1/2 in.), 30 years (18 x 3/4 in.), 40 years (24 x 1/2 in.) and 50 years (24 x 3/4 in.), pro-rata with replacement or refund at G&R's election, transferable within seven years, and it excludes untreated product in a list of southern and Gulf states unless CCA treated.
